Let's join our hearts to
the thousands who are mourning in Egypt and Saudi Arabia over the loss
of their loved ones who perished in a ship
wreck on the Red Sea:

The Abandoned Dory for Those
Lost at Sea.
(William Wiley, 1998)
For All the
Shipwrecks
Father, you are the creator of
all life:
When You created the waters, you
made it a cradle for mankind, and it
was good to you. In your mercy, O Lord,
receive those who perished in the Red Sea.
Lord, be with those who
pass through the waters.
Jesus, you are the redeemer of
all life:
At your baptism, you made all water sacred.
Look with mercy on all those who are mourning
their loved ones lost at sea. Hide them in your wounds.
May they find shelter in You, our Rock of Ages in the Storm.
Lord, be with those who
pass through the waters.
Holy Spirit, you are the fire
of life poured out on all flesh:
In the beginning, you brooded over the watery chaos,
and you are the healing wind that sighs over our turmoil today.
Breathe life out of death, and joy out of mourning for all those
shipwrecked and for those who mourn their loss.
Lord, be with those who
pass through the waters.
