Mudslide: Guinsaugon, Philippines
As families and friends frantically search for signs of life in the aftermath of a landslide that buried their village, let's give our intercession on their behalf: That lives will be saved and the mourning will be comforted.

Cut Sunflowers (Vincent Van Gogh)

For All Lost Villages:

Father, in the beginning,
you pulled mud from the earth and breathed on it:
and we became a living being. Breathe your life
on those lost in the mud in the Philippine tragedy.
Let the original breath of your love rescue those buried,
and receive in mercy those who return to You:

Lord, may your glad tidings reach every village

 Jesus, you slept in death within the earth;
a seed fallen, dead, and buried.
Hear the cries of all the generations buried under the mud,
and also we who are buried under the debris of our own lives.
May we all rise out of the earth with you:
never to die again, for you are the Resurrection and the Life:

Lord, may your glad tidings reach every village

Holy Spirit, empower your saints in the land to be
ministers of healing, comfort, and miraculous rescues.
Be the breath of new life for the village lost under
the earth. May she rise again as a city on a hill, and
may you take this prayer and make it a multiplied
seed on your wind for the healing of the world.

Lord, may your glad tidings reach every village

Amen.
