Straw Bale Building Updates - Drywall!
Page 9
After finishing the stucco work, we took some time off to enjoy our
families and friends. That was hard work. Then we jumped into the task
of finishing out the walls and ceilings. We also found time to complete
another door. We are getting pretty close to texture and paint.

Door #2 hung. |

This is a close up of the engraving that is on both sides of
this door. (Its the east door.) We have all the rest of the
doors glued together, we just need to complete the engravings
and finishing. |

We have the inside drywall nearly complete and some of the
taping completed. This is a picture from inside the chapel area. |

We have roof insulated with R-40 blown insulation in addition to
the R-12 rolled insulation under the metal roof. We put a screen
under the eaves, with a rolled bamboo to keep with the "earthy"
look. |

We used store bought, all wood inner doors. We thought they
looked nicer than the cheap hollow doors, but were still a lot
easier to put up than building our own. (The outer doors are
enough) |

This is a picture from the hall into the bathroom. We have the
shower/ bathtub stall finished with backer board and ready to
tile. The rest of the bathroom has the green water resistant
drywall put in place. |
