Confronted with Your Presence

Lord Jesus, we worship you and offer you now the prayers of our hearts.
Help us to enter the spirit of the Upper Room that we may be confronted by your presence and the depth of your love for us.
Then prepare our hearts to be fed at your holy table that we may be bound to you in your suffering, that we may be raised with you into a new life.
Amen.

The New and Eternal Sacrifice

God our Father, we are gathered here to share in the supper which your only Son left to his Church to reveal his love. He gave it to us when he was about to die and commanded us to celebrate it as the new and eternal sacrifice. We pray that in this Eucharist we may find the fullness of love and life. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
