Once we beat our flesh into submission till we bled.
We were unworthy of bestowed grace.
To freely accept would be haughty, unapproving, proud.
We lived in daily striving f His favor,
groveling for acceptance, untrue lowliness.

Now we bask in His favor as we're the apple of His eye.
We soak in His glory, we deserve and want all that is ours,
lacking nothing, blessings overflowing, after all, we are
princes and princesses; give me what's owed me
with such a title...Now, please.

And if there's balance it too wouldn't be "the way."

But Mercy, give me Mercy!
Mercy on my weaknesses; Mercy on my strengths
Mercy on what little I have; Mercy on my abundance
Mercy on my lowliness; Mercy when men have favor on me
Make me to fall in love with your Mercy
Merciless me...Merciful You
