Nature’s Provision
Desert diary from Thursday, July 13, 2006

Ancients soar proudly, boasting
A rodents’ kill thrice the days’ fill

Black crows hungrily hover over
Rabbit flesh; early morning eat
From a late night runover

A heat so freakin’ hot
A caw so freakin’ shrill
A roadkill lies so freakin’ still
In a bloodrun pool
In a bloodspit drool
A devoured meal of nature’s will

A prayer said for a hawk, if dead
To decorate an Indians head
Request granted, a cross country drive
Face down, highway 35

A heat so freakin’ hot
A caw so freakin’ shrill
A roadkill lies so freakin’ still
In a bloodrun pool
In a bloodspit drool
A devoured meal of nature’s will

Provider of ram; Provider of Lamb
In raw form or refined
At the sixth hour, gave up His power
Death imminent and complete

A Blaze so freakin’ hot
A cry so freakin’ shrill
A crossbar lies so freakin’ still
In a Bloodrun pool
In a Bloodspit drool
A devoured meal of Holy will
