My road to Emmaus
(Posted 3/27/08)
Yes, Jesus is alive. I saw him this
morning while he was in the garden checking trees and plants for signs
of life. I saw him laugh and cry with tears of joy, when he saw trees
that used to be dead, turning green with spring season life, the day
after Easter Sunday. He spoke to the plants as if they could hear and
reply to him. He encouraged them to grow and thanked them for being
brave. I later went with him to a tree that showed no signs of life and
had surely died from the roots to the branches. We cut down the tree,
only this time he said nothing. When I asked why he hadn't said some
words to the dead tree like he said to the others, he laughed and said,
"Didn't you hear when I said good words to the trees that have life?
There's one life, and it has left this tree, and so shouldn't be spoken
to however, the same life which was in this tree is now in the others.
Bless one life and you will bless all life." When he saw my thoughts
thanking him for his care for everything, he said "no, thank you, don't
you see? These plants are the people on your heart. When you look after
these plants your heart prays for these people, it knows no other way."
I thought on these people for a while and when I turned to tell Jesus
what I'd learned, he was gone.
