Year Old Mikaela's Vision
Desert diary from
Wednesday, August 25, 2004
I’ve been meaning to write this story down for the past month, but
something kept coming up. Finally I’ve got a few minutes so I better
tell it now before I start forgetting the details.
We were in a Sunday evening prayer time after a service. Mikaela, my 9
year old daughter (8 yrs old last month when it happened) came into the
service toward the end and went up and kneeled on one of the rugs we had
laid out in front of the alter. There was some music gently playing in
the background and David was praying intermittently.
Mikaela kept kneeling, much longer than she would normally sit still
for, so I put my hand on her back and prayed for her a little. She
started holding out her hands and crying. She stayed this way for over
30 minutes – Way past her attention span under normal circumstances.
Linda came over and prayed for her for a while, and Deanna took a turn
as well. For a long while Deanna just held our little girl on her lap
and rocked her and prayed. Mikaela seemed to really be getting touched
by the Lord for the whole time!
Later that evening I asked her what was happening and she explained the
following to me:
She said that she was doubting lately a little about how real God was.
She asked God to show Him to herself and she said he “met” with her. She
said she saw a beautiful place where the could run in green fields with
other children. She also saw a throne with the Lord sitting on it with a
Green rainbow above Him. The Lord was singing a song to Mikaela – a song
about her own name. The Lord was singing “Mikaela Hanna” over her. This
is interesting because her given name is Mikaela DeAnn Steele, not
Hanna. Perhaps the “Hanna” name was to correspond to the devotion that
Hanna had for the Lord in Biblical times.
Later in the vision she said she saw her brother Jonathan all grown up.
He was a gold miner. He was mining and pulling out treasure from his
mine.
The result of everything really cemented Mikaela’s belief and love for
the Lord. She said that “absolutely believed in Jesus now, and would
never doubt again!”
This was a truly awesome point in a father’s life to get to be a part
of.
